Who Should I Sell For?
Anytime I tried to google phrases like “door to door companies to work for” I would get a bunch of garbage sites pulling up outdated or irrelevant companies for what I was looking for. With numberless companies offering direct marketing jobs, I decided to niche down to three specific direct marketing industries for you to consider selling for: Pest Control, Home Security, and Solar.
After rigorous research, I narrowed my selection down to 21 of the top rated and current companies across the globe. I personally researched each company, checked out reviews, locations available, and added some personal thoughts to give you as raw of input as possible. The ratings I pulled were from collective sites (e.g. Google, Consumers Affairs, Yelp, etc.) and are based off location. So if they appear different when you research them that may be why.
Many of the companies I have either personally worked for or have good friends who recommended the listed companies below. I’ve included a link to each website so you can check out the ones that look the most interesting to you.
My hope is that this serves all you aspiring D2D salesmen and saleswomen looking for an opportunity for a better life.

Pros - One of the largest and most well-known D2D pest control companies out there. They have a great sales curriculum, trainings, and incentives for returning every year.

Pros - Focused on environmental friendly pest control. Have a large presence in California. Have become well-known and a good company to consider.

Pros - An up and coming pest control company. Focused on environmentally friendly pest control and have grown tremendously since inception in 2011. Great company with great culture.
Orkin

Yelp Ranking - 3.5 / 5.0 ⭐Avg.
Locations Available - “In more than 400 locations in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Europe, Central America, South America, the Middle East, the Caribbean, Asia, the Mediterranean, Africa, and Australia.” All states except AL, SD, ND.
Pros - Serving approximately 1.7 million residential and commercial customers.” That’s a lot of accounts! Not all offices accept D2D marketing.
Vantage
Bio - "Vantage has more markets available to its reps than any other other door-to-door pest control company. Vantage represents companies like Terminix and Insight Pest Solutions.”

Pros - Known for its exciting culture and opportunity to sale for big name companies like Terminix. Claims that 83% of reps who start summer, finish it. That’s a great stat!

Pros - Established since 1929, it's well known throughout part of California. Offers high initial payout rates compared to other pest control companies. Offers organic solutions and below-average service rates.
Terminix

Pros - Known across the country. Probably the most well-known pest control company. Don’t always offer D2D marketing jobs in certain cities. Recognized as an authority in the pest control market.
Edge

Pros - I’ve noticed them growing a lot over the past couple years. Newer company but offer competitive rates and spend a lot on marketing which is a strong sign of credibility.

Pros - Known for their hard-working culture and presentation training. Moxie is a great candidate for individuals who want to get to work.

Pros - One of the market leaders in smart home automation. Vivint is renown for its sales force and home security options for its customers. One of the most successful d2d companies today.

Pros - I’ve had several friends work for Alder. They offer competitive pay, fun culture, and potential residual payment options. They work hard and get down to business.

Locations Available - Across USA (except ND). Puerto Rico and Canada.
Pros - Established for a long time within the home security market. Not as strongly suited for D2D marketing, but offer in some locations.

Pros - Smart Shield Systems showed up as one of the best home security companies in CA and are currently hiring D2D marketing. If you’re from CA or want to sell there they seem like a good option.

Pros - Claimed as the most positively reviewed solar provider in the United States. It’s always a huge benefit to work for a company that values their customers satisfaction.

Pros - When researching best solar companies in US, Elevation Solar comes in at #1 for website bestcompany.com. I don’t know them personally, but it counts for something to be recognized as a great company.

Pros - A HUGE solar empire spread across the world. They service from residential to commercial. Offer D2D marketing opportunities in locations. Being a well established company gives you credibility and helps close the sell.
Blue Raven
Bio - "In less than 2 years Blue Raven Solar has gone from 3 to over 400 team members nationwide and became a top 10 solar company in the U.S.”

Locations Available - OR, NC, IL, CO, NV, ID, SC, FL
Pros - They have grown tremendously in the past few years and are likely going to continue to expand. Blue Raven Solar has potential growth opportunities within the company and available from west to east coast.

Consumer Affairs Ranking - 4.0 / 5.0 ⭐
Locations Available - UT
Pros - Up and coming solar company in UT. Offer hourly pay on top of commission benefits for getting appointments made and closed. If you really like the security of hourly wage plus commission, this may be a good fit.

Pros - Solcius is another up and coming company. You can apply directly on their website for a D2D sales job. Came up as #4 on search for best solar companies. A good option to consider.

Pros - With a footprint in several states, Ion is a great option for individuals across the nation. They are growing rapidly and have a page dedicated to showing available positions right on their website. Seem like a good fit for selling solar.
